These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Widgetjoy. By creating an account, you agree to them, to our Privacy Policy, and to our Data Processing Addendum, which is part of these terms.
Words we use
- Widgetjoy, we and us mean Widgetjoy, which runs widgetjoy.com, and the service itself, including its Dashboard, API and MCP server.
- Customer and you mean the business, or the person acting for a business, that creates an account.
- Workspace means the place in Widgetjoy where a Customer's Sites, Widgets and messages live.
- Widget means a form, a banner or another element a Customer builds with Widgetjoy and shows on their website.
- Visitor means a person who visits a Customer's website and sees or uses a Widget.
- Customer Data means the personal data that reaches Widgetjoy through a Customer's Widgets, above all what Visitors type into them, and any other personal data we process on a Customer's behalf.
- Agent means software, such as an AI assistant, that a Customer connects to Widgetjoy with an agent token.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 and use Widgetjoy for a business, a profession or an organisation, not as a consumer. If you create an account for a company, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
- Give a real name and an email address you can receive mail at.
- An account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what happens in your account and your Workspace. Tell us at [email protected] straight away if you think somebody else has got into it.
What is yours, and what is ours
Everything you put into Widgetjoy, and everything your Visitors send through it, stays yours. You let us store, copy, show and deliver it only as far as we need to run Widgetjoy for you. Widgetjoy's software, design, name and logo are ours. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely.
Your Visitors and their data
For Customer Data, you are the controller and we are your processor, under the Data Processing Addendum. You are responsible for:
- telling your Visitors, in your own privacy notice, what your Widgets collect and that Widgetjoy processes it for you;
- having a lawful basis for what your Widgets ask for, and asking for consent where the law requires it. Widgets have no consent checkbox, so put that information on the page around them;
- not asking for sensitive data, such as health information, card numbers or identity numbers, and not collecting data from children;
- answering your Visitors' requests about their data. You can find, download and delete what they sent in your Dashboard.
Agents, the API and MCP
You can connect an Agent to your Workspace through our API or MCP server, with an agent token you create in the Dashboard.
- A token acts with the access of the person who created it. It can do almost everything that person can, except create, see or revoke tokens, change notification settings, delete a Site, download everything or delete the Workspace.
- It works until you revoke it or its creator leaves the Workspace. Every change it makes is recorded in your Workspace's history.
- You are responsible for what your Agents do, as if you had done it. Keep tokens secret. What an Agent reads leaves Widgetjoy and is governed by whoever provides the Agent.
- We may limit how fast tokens can make requests.
Acceptable use
Do not use Widgetjoy, or let anyone use your Workspace, to:
- break the law, or help somebody else break it;
- deceive Visitors, for example with phishing, fake reviews or a countdown to a deadline that does not exist;
- send spam, or collect email addresses without the person's consent;
- spread malware, or put code on a website you have no right to change;
- publish content that is illegal, hateful or harassing, or that infringes somebody else's rights;
- attack or overload Widgetjoy, get round its limits or security, or reach data that is not yours;
- copy or resell Widgetjoy, or build a competing product from it.

Plans and the badge
Widgetjoy is free during early access, and no payment is taken. If we introduce paid plans, we will first publish their prices and the terms for paying, renewing, cancelling and refunds, and you will choose whether to buy one. We may set limits on free Workspaces, and we will tell you before a new limit applies to you.
Widgets on the free plan show a small "Made with Widgetjoy" link. Please do not hide or remove it.
The service
Widgetjoy changes as we build it: we may add, change or remove features, and things marked "Soon" or "Coming soon" are not available yet. We work to keep it available, but we do not promise any particular level of availability. Keep your own copy of what matters to you: Settings → General → Download everything gives you one file with everything in your Workspace.
Leaving, and closing accounts
You can leave at any time: download everything, then delete your Workspace in Settings → General. It is deleted together with your account at once, and your Widgets stop appearing on your websites.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or must be closed by law. Where we reasonably can, we will warn you first and give you time to download your data. If we ever shut Widgetjoy down, we will give you at least 30 days' notice.
Liability
Widgetjoy is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for lost profits, lost data or indirect loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused it. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud.
You will cover our reasonable costs from claims by third parties, including your Visitors, that arise from your content, your Widgets or your breach of these terms.
Changes, law and contact
If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will tell you by email or in the Dashboard at least 30 days before, unless the law or a security problem requires sooner; if you keep using Widgetjoy after that, the new terms apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, and disputes are settled by the courts of Romania. If any part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
