Start from the one closest to what you are counting to: a sale that ends, an event that begins, a span that runs out. The date, the words, the button and what shows at zero all change in the Studio, and so does the look, from plain numbers to blocks and flip cards. A template made for the page sits where you put its line; a bar runs along the top of every page.

Can I change the date and the look?
Yes. Everything in a template changes in the Studio: the date, the words, the button, the colours and the style of the numbers. A template is only where you start.
Does it end at the same moment for every visitor?
Yes. A countdown ends at one moment everywhere, so your midnight may be a visitor's afternoon. A template that comes back each year keeps your own time zone, and a fixed interval counts each visitor's own minutes instead.
What happens when it reaches zero?
You choose under At zero in the Studio: it can leave the page, keep its numbers at zero, show a message with a button, or take visitors to another page of your site.
